Netflix released character posters for Army of the Dead
Netflix has released a bunch of character posters for the Zack Snyder’s upcoming zombie action film ‘Army of the Dead’, with a neon drenched rogues style display, The film will premieres three weeks from tomorrow on May 21, and as far as high concepts go, Army of the Dead exists in its stratosphere. Dave Bautista leads the hardened band of criminals, mercenaries and thieves as they stage daring Las Vegas casino heist as Sin City finds itself gripped by the undead apocalypse.
And also as Bautista’s war hero, Army of the Dead sprawling ensemble also features Ella Parnell as his daughter, Hiroyuki Sanada features as a casino boss who sets the heist in the motion, Ana de la Reguera’s a mechanic, Omari Hardwick’s a zombie killer, Tig Notaro’s a helicopter pilot, Raul Castillo’s influencer and his partner played by the Samantha Win, Matthias Schweighofer’s safe cracker, Nora Arnezeder mysterious warrior, Garrett Dillahunt’s is a head of casino security and Theo Rossi’s as a slimy guard.
Not only Army of the Dead mark as the first feature for the Snyder outside of the DCEU from Sucker Punch a decade ago, but this brings his filmography full circle after he made his debut on 2004 best entertaining Dawn of the Dead remake, which was also last time he helmed a movie outside of his home studio of Warner Bros.
The trailer has promised all of Snyder’s signature visual touchs, but there was a welcome sense of some heat, humor and levity in the movie footage as well. Of course, not to mention the attention grabbing appearance of the Valentine zombie tiger, who has a surprising connection to Carole Baskin, but it looks like it is going to be big budget, bonkers fun.
The film Army of the Dead premieres on May 21 in select theaters and on Netflix.
