This could happen even without initiating a file transfer to another device and can expose a significant risk. According to a report posted in Trusted Reviews, this bug could expose the users phone numbers and email’s to a stranger who is in its WiFi range. The report said that researchers at the Technische University raised about the problem with Apple, in past 2019 but the Apple doesn’t fixed the problem yet. They said that this problem lies in the Mobile’s weak hashing of phone numbers and email addresses associated with the Apple user.
